I rarely give 5 star ratings - which means I truly enjoyed the book and can re-read it several times with the same enjoyment. I almost rated this a 4-star because there was just too much betrayals. I almost stopped reading it. I had to keep reminding myself that this is a story based on political upheavals/conquering. So of course there will be deaths. It has all the element that I enjoy on a fantasy story - magic, fighting and more magic. I got involved in the story and kept eyeing how many pages were left. I just knew that it would end - with a continuation on book 2. I was right. I'm now following the author so that I will be alerted when book 2 comes out.Product details

The Calling Stone Away CR Griffin Books Reviews
Fun book.
This book starts slow but is very engaging and leaves the reader ready for the next in this series. The savior is a women with great strength and power.
If you love reading fantasy books, you will really enjoy reading this book. I could not put it down. It has very strong characters, and the storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for the sequel to come out. You will not regret this purchase.
I enjoyed this book, though the premise of from two worlds didn't make as much sense when it came out how ALL the characters knew each other.... I am tempted though to read the next book.
This was recommended by a friend. It is written by a hometown Lady. I enjoyed the story very much although I will say that at times, I found it a bit confusing and had to go back a few pages and reread to understand. I especially got confused with the made up names of the other worlds family tiers names for the Mother, Father, etc... With all that being minor to the story in itself, I would recommend this to all who enjoy a good love fantasy.
This book was well writen and I was pleased to find that it did not have glaring grammatical errors that a lot of first novels and quite a few ebooks are plagued with. The character building was excellent, in my opinion. It had some surprise twists, turns and connections. Can't wait for the next book in the series to see what happens with the heroes and the magical world of Baliund. I usually do not like books that end in a cliff hanger, where you have to buy the next in the series, but this one is different. Please, C. R. Griffin, hurry up and publish the next book so that we can find out what happens next to Kali, Black, Andel, Calvon, Tayl and the rest.
I am an avid reader, especially of fantasy and sci-fi. For a first time writer, especially self published, this is a brilliantly written novel. Well worth the read ! After finishing this book I found myself frustrated that the sequel hadn't been written yet or I would have immediately purchased it. A number of things separate hacks from real writers and C.R. Griffin does two of these extremely well; character and dialog. Both are genuine, believable, and smoothly done. The story is great, but the writing is what makes this novel stand out.
